Located close to Notting Hill in central London, Notting Dale Campus is a collection of mixed use buildings featuring offices, studios, a fitness centre and an art gallery.
Princebuild were given the challenge of bringing the design for the central public realm area to life, which aimed to open out the contemporary central square and provide the perfect setting for outdoor artworks.
The design and build contract featured a combination of permeable and non-permeable York stone with granite setts which were installed along the Nicholas Road area.
New plinths and bespoke planters with integrated lighting were also installed along with all associated electrical works.
Works on site were delayed due to the national lock down and there was also some issues to be overcome with creating a paving system which was fully permeable whilst providing the strength required for fire engine access in case of an emergency.
The site team worked hard once work recommenced to overcome the issues and delivered a high end finish within agreed time frames.
The project transformed the heart of the campus creating a thriving environment for all users to enjoy as well as providing a connection between the different buildings.
The project was awarded a RIBA Regional Award in 2022
